RemekTek Domain Registrations
Internet domains are the names that usually appear after the “www.” in a web address or after the '@' symbol in your e-mail address. The ending usually conveys country and function. For Australian registrations, the ending is “.au”, whereas US or unspecified domains don’t have country designators.
Other domain endings are used to indicate function of the site, e.g.:
- .com - for commercial sites
- .org - for non-commercial organisations
- .edu - for education bodies
- .gov - for government departments
- .net - also for non-commercial, network related organisations
- .biz - similar to .com for businesses
